Went up onto Franz Josef Glacier today. Great fun and a spectacular place. It moves down the valley at around 1 metre per day, but at the moment is melting at about the same rate.

After getting to Invercargill, I went on the ferry to Stewart Island, which is the most southerly point of New Zealand. Just off Stewart Island is Ulva Island which is a bird sanctuary.

The Tongariro Crossing. These are edited highlights as the trip took 7.5 hours and I only took 35 minutes of video. This should show the good bits ! This was a 10 mile hike over and around 2 active volcanos, and it was hard work but well worth it.
